Use Acrylic Varnish for the easiest application and best protection. Cottage Paint offers 2 sheen levels to complete your furniture master piece.  Flat varnish gives you protection, without showing any glare from the topcoat. The higher the sheen the higher the protection. The lower the sheen the easier the application. Cottage Paint satin Varnish is a top quality, durable varnish with a bit of sheen. We have used it as a topcoat on the painted cement floor in our storefront. Gloss varnish is also available, and is mostly used as a topcoat for Paint pours, to mimic the look of highly polished marble. if in doubt, phone us before you order
